Stuffffff

So i decided to take a break from making my halloween costume:

to post some of my recent stuff I've been working on.  And for anyone who doesnt recognize this iconic image, its Ash (bruce campbell) from Army of Darkness.

Here are some linoleum cut prints from my book that I just finished for my illustration class.
They are all roughly 6x8" and are all two layer block prints with speedball ink on strathmore paper.

Sorry about the sideways images, I will try to repost them later.  But for anyone who is interested, you should be able to click the images and make them bigger, and then right click and save them to your computer... then obviously you can flip them.

I will try to post again soon if I have a free second...... happy halloween!

Music is good

Lightning Bolt was amazing, although I didnt recognize more than one song they played, the show was still awesome and I got to talk to Brian Gibson after the show which was cool. TV on the Radio was also incredible and they opened with my favorite song which sounded amazing live. I have much more work to do now so I am going to blast some Portishead and get that done.

Limited Edition Vinyl Toy!

So I bought a blank vinyl toy today and customized it with acrylic paint.. I thought maybe I could pretend that I was a famous designer who would actually get paid to do something like this, but unfortunately, the only thing about this toy that is limited edition is that there is only one... and it's mine. Sorry.  I think it came out pretty cool though:
I am working on a pretty big acrylic "painting" for my drawing class which I am less than excited about, but some of the studies I did in class came out alright at least:

"Canal study"
Acrylic on cardboard 8x10"
"Down By the Bay!"
Acrylic on cardboard 8x12"

In other news, I just got back from a two hour hockey practice and I am exhausted.  But I did manage to break my stick for the first time in my life when I was taking a shot on net in a scrimmage.  So I am pretty proud of myself.  But now I have to buy a new stick which kind of sucks....
ouch.

New Drawing!

I have finally ended my one and half day drawing marathon, and am pretty happy with the resulting piece which I have entitled, "Wreathes". It is pen and ink on Stonehenge paper and is about 20 x 24". I actually took some production photos too..

Layout in pen with some detailing

First wash of ink with medium shadows

Water

First wash completed

Finished piece

Hope you enjoy it!
PS- I just updated my website with this piece and two other new ones. They can be found on the "illustration" page as well as the "drawing and painting" page.  I am going to bed now to try and get over this cold...

Oil painting...

My oil painting class is killing me right now. I am not a big fan of oils.. but here are a few boring samples of my work from that class:
