I finally completed my record playing setup today and have already gotten a few vinyls which I have been listening to today. The setup consists of:
Fisher mt914 turntable
Kingston preamp
a phono/eighth inch jack cord which turns into an extension cord that goes into my HiFi
The speakers are across the room from the setup, I will eventually get/make a separate pair of speakers for the record player.

I also built a shelf thing which consists of:

wood (poplar?)

spraypaint

custom stencils

polyurethane

LED glow from above...

So far i have acquired:

Ok Computer - Radiohead

Siamese Dream - Smashing Pumpkins

Sound of Separation - Underoath

But there are many other favorites I must get in time...

I whipped up an album cover yesterday for my roommate's friend's electronic band. Its just a pen doodle I put into Photoshop and reset the threshhold level of/colored.

Untitled Show!

My buddy Rohit from high school is spearheading a project to design a cartoon program and create a pilot episode to pitch to Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. So far a whole bunch of characters have been created for the show which is currently untitled, and a script for the pilot episode is hopefully on the way. I have been asked to design the characters for the show from descriptions Rohit and his friends have come up with, and I am posting all of my concept sketches here:

After four long weeks of working on the same assignment for my painting class, I am glad to say that I'm finally done. The painting is a master copy of a Salvador Dali painting, and although I learned a few things from doing it, I cannot suggest doing a master copy to anyone; it kind of sucks... These pictures aren't that great but you get the idea..

Just finished up my assemblage "Watching a Dead Bird" this morning for my crit at 1:30. Here are some pics of the process.

Lightning Bolt was amazing, although I didnt recognize more than one song they played, the show was still awesome and I got to talk to Brian Gibson after the show which was cool. TV on the Radio was also incredible and they opened with my favorite song which sounded amazing live. I have much more work to do now so I am going to blast some Portishead and get that done.

Limited Edition Vinyl Toy!

So I bought a blank vinyl toy today and customized it with acrylic paint.. I thought maybe I could pretend that I was a famous designer who would actually get paid to do something like this, but unfortunately, the only thing about this toy that is limited edition is that there is only one... and it's mine. Sorry. I think it came out pretty cool though:

I am working on a pretty big acrylic "painting" for my drawing class which I am less than excited about, but some of the studies I did in class came out alright at least:

In other news, I just got back from a two hour hockey practice and I am exhausted. But I did manage to break my stick for the first time in my life when I was taking a shot on net in a scrimmage. So I am pretty proud of myself. But now I have to buy a new stick which kind of sucks....

I have finally ended my one and half day drawing marathon, and am pretty happy with the resulting piece which I have entitled, "Wreathes". It is pen and ink on Stonehenge paper and is about 20 x 24". I actually took some production photos too..

I went for a joyous longboard ride today to visit "The bridge that won't sit down" on Providence's East Side. For those of you who don't know it is an old rusty movable bridge that is permanently stuck in the "up" position. I took a bunch of photographs there which I am using to make studies for a drawing that I will be doing this week:
